Berting’s Grill

Berting’s Grill

We Filipinos are known to be very experimental when it comes to food.  More and more dishes are created, discovered and updated everyday.  More and more restaurants that offers Pinoy food come and go. In this industry, your food should not only be unique but great tasting too.  Pinoy food but not in a traditional way is what separates Berting’s Grill to all Pinoy restaurant.

“Pinoy but not the traditional way. We try to be unique. We only have a few items on our menu so all of them are special.”Andrew Wijangco, Owner/Chef

I really regret leaving my the SD card of my DSLR. I brought the camera but left the SD card inserted in the Eee Tablet. The photos taken were only from my phone and they not as enticing as it should be.  I was not able to give these great tasting food justice. Believe me when I say it’s looks and tastes better and you got to try it.

Lumpia ni Berting – Php135

Lumpia ni Berting is chili and grilled pork wrapped in lumpia wrapper complemented with sweet, sour and spicy sauce.  I was afraid that it’ll burn in my mouth but surprisingly it didn’t. It didn’t taste hot, maybe a spike, just enough to know that it’s chili. It didn’ sting at all.

Crispy Chicken Skin – Php135
Adobong Kangkong – Php60

Adobong Kangkong  is one of their top seller because of it’s unqiue adobo taste topped with crispy garlic. I could order one of these and pair it with three orders of rice.

Crispy Dory in Special Butter Sauce – Php225
Crispy Bicol Express – Php195

Crispy Bicol Express is Bicol Express with lechon kawali on the side.  Instead of having the pork cooked together with the ingredients, it was quite unusual but it was a great combination. The pork is perfectly crispy.

Crispy Kare-Kareng Pata – regular Php 485 – large Php535

Crispy Kare-Kareng Pata is my favorite. Separating the every main ingredient to create your own mix.  Kare-kare is not in my top ten lists of Pinoy food or even top 15, but this will dish change the ball game.  It didn’t have the “tuwalya” that I don’t like.

Lechong Manok ni Berting – whole Php360 – half Php180

Lechong Manok ni Berting is one of the best grilled chicken I’ve tasted.  It is prepared by chef Andrew himself using secret ingredients, marinating it for 72hrs!  The cooking process takes arond 45 minutes and it’s cooked fresh upon order s better order them in advance so you don’t have to wait too long.
