IPPUDO Ramen Is Now In The Philippines

Our love for Ramen has brought the world-famous ramen restaurant, IPPUDO , in the Philippines and it’s opening its doors today September 10, at the 3rd floor of the Mega Fashion Hall at SM Megamall.

Although the place has a modern traditional look, the interior still has this classic Japanese feel. The place is classic Japanese feel that reminds me of  one of the most popular manga series, Naruto.

Before opening they had an exclusive event for foodies take the first sip, slurp and from the ramen bowls.

We were able to have a taste of what they have to offer before they open to the public on Sept 10, starting with the side dishes. Let’s start with the side dishes, Goma Q (P140), a  sliced Japanese cucumber with sesame dressing.

Dashimaki Tamago with Mentaiko (P150), is a fluffy omelette roll served with mentaiko mayonnaise dip (spicy cod roe).

Ippudo 5

Curry Cheese Harumaki (P190)are deep fried spring rolls stuffed with curry, minced pork and cheese.

Hakata-Style Gyoza (P195) or pan friend dumplings.

Among all the side dishes, this is my favorite, the IPPUDO Pork Bun. Steamed bun with juicy braised pork belly and IPPUDO’s original sauce. If it wasn’t for the fat, I may have eaten more of it.

Hakata-style IPPUDO is famous for its tonkatsu broth (pork-based) which boasts a signature delicate and creamy flavour. With ramen of the highest quality, hospitable service with attention to detail and unique ambience, IPPUDO aims to create an exquisite and delightful ramen dining experience for its customers throughout the world.

This is what IPPUDO made popular, ramen. We were served three of their best sellers that night, and I was surprised how big the servings are.

What I had that night was the Karaka-Men (p390), it has the original IPPUDO tonkatsu broth, served with thin wavy noodles, pork belly, and spring onion. It has special spicy minced beef, miso paste, and fragrant garlic oil. This one is very spicy, only a true ninja can withstand this level of spice.

Shiromaru Motoaji (P375), is classic Hakata-style ramen that also with the original IPPUDO tonkatsu broth served with ultra-thin noodles, pork loin, bean sprouts, kikurage(type of mushroom) and spring onions.

The Akamaru Shinaji added a little twist to the classic Hakata-style ramen, adding the special blended miso paste and the fragrant garlic oil.

Your ramen can be more flavorful by adding these suggested combinations, salted soft-boiled eggs, simmered pork belly, and/or seaweed for an additional cost. You can also choose the hardness of your noodles from soft, medium, hard, and very hard. You can order additional noodles or KaeDama (P70) as long as there is enough soup left in your bowl. You can also request additional toppings, ranging from P40 t0 P100.
