It was one memorable day at The Playground, Ronac Art Center for Zumba lovers as they were joined by International Zumba Instructor, Loretta Bates. I have no idea that Zumba is such a big thing. I have learned a lot about Zumba during the interview with Loretta.
- Their not just for lola’s, you can start at any age.
- You don’t need to have a background in dancing, you’re not even required to follow the steps. As long as you have movement, no matter how small it is.
- Not just for women, men can do Zumba too.
- It is universal, music is universal.
- It isn’t a fad, as long as there is music to dance too, Zumba is here to stay.
Fresh from her Zumba Party in Bacolod, Loretta Bates wowed the crowd with her grooves and awesome energy.
I spotted I couple of celebrities during the Zumba party at Roanc Center including, celebrity couple, Regine and Lander, Cristalle Bello, and Nadine Tengco.
During the even we also met Cilium Brand Manager Cathy Reyes and Zumba Fitness Instructor, Madelle Paltu-ob who shared great news for Filipino Zumba enthusiasts. Cilium, together with the Quezon City government, will attempt to break the Guinness World Records™ for the largest Zumba® class in a single venue. It was 6,671 by India, and we are targetting 9,000 or more. I was surprised that she is still doing Zumba even if she’s 7 months pregnant (with doctors permit of course, and with caution).
“No previous Zumba®, fitness, or dancing experience is required, they just need to follow the routines and, of course, the Guinness World Records™ guidelines, one of which calls for everybody in the entire class to participate to the best of their ability for at least 30 continuous minutes,” said Zumba® Fitness instructor Madelle Paltu-ob.
The record-breaking activity is inline with Quezon City’s Jubilee celebration, and will be held at the Quezon City Circle. “We are happy to announce that our application has been officially noted and accepted by the Guinness organization. In the spirit of unity, we are looking forward to making this event a big, fun-filled celebration for all,” said Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.
Individuals interested to take part in the record-breaking Zumba attempt are requested to register in advance at their nearest barangay offices, or by logging on to www.qczparty.com. Sponsors and volunteers may contact Kristie Bonifacio at firstname.lastname@example.org or +639054294316.
