The inaugural Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival receives a significant boost with the official partnership of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). This collaboration highlights the shared commitment to promoting and nurturing the Philippine film industry.
Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, Senior Marketing Manager at Puregold, expressed her enthusiasm: “We are delighted to partner with MTRCB for the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival. This partnership strengthens our goal of presenting a selection of uplifting films suitable for families and individuals.”
The MTRCB’s role extends beyond ensuring films adhere to legal standards. Chairperson Lala Sotto emphasizes, “Our support for the creative industry goes beyond assigning age ratings. We actively collaborate with organizations like Puregold on initiatives like the CinePanalo Film Festival that contribute to the revitalization of the national economy.”
Sotto further highlights the partnership’s aim to inspire Filipino audiences: “We aim to encourage the support of films that promote positive cultural values, contributing to a vision of a unified and prosperous Philippines.”
The festival boasts a lineup of new feature-length films from acclaimed directors and 25 exceptional student-produced short films. All entries will be screened at Gateway Cineplex 18 from March 15-19, 2024.
An awards night will be held on March 16th at Gateway Cinemas, where both short and full-length films will be recognized. As an official partner, the MTRCB will also present special citations during the ceremony.
