Sumosam, the country’s fastest growing casual dining Japanese restaurant chain has recently launched it’s latest addition to its ever growing delicious treats.
Leading the pack is the Tonkatsu Kurobuta. Kurubuta Pork is the most highly prized pork in Japan and comes from the ancient breed of big known as Black Berkshire. Deep fried to perfection, this new Tonkatsu is a product of premium ingredients and traditional Japanese cooking techniques.
It’s served with rice and cabbage. The cabbage is what I like the most especially with its sesame dressing. It’s the perfect rice alternative, less carbs. You will have to exert effort in creating your Tonkatsu dip just like the one the other Tonkatsu restaurants. You grind the sesame seeds then you pour the dip.
Here’s something unique, a Japaneses restaurant serving pizza. Sumosam does not only offer pizza, they launched three flavors. Chicken Teriyaki & Mango, Shrimp Enoki and Kani & Cheese. Which Sumosam chefs did a demo of.
These pizzas is definitely on top of my list. It’s perfectly cooked and topped with a lot of cheese, it’s thin crisp is served hot. You would have to order it in advance because it takes around 10 mins to prepare. But it’s definitely worth the wait.
Sumosam also introduced something new, Cold Soba. Soba is a Japanese noodle made of buckwheat and wheat flour. I really don’t have any idea what it is. It’ like cold noodles that comes with a dip. It comes in four flavors: Ten Zaru Cha Soba, Kani Soba Salad, Zaru Cha Soba (Green) and Zaru Soba (Brown).
They rinse the Soba in ice to then add the ingredients and prepare the dip.
For deserts, Sumosam offers three new exciting sweets for their line up. The Merengue with Avocado and Mango Coulis, the Ice Cream Trio (Avocado, Strawberry and Wasabi), Mochi Ice Cream, Chocolate Ganache Cake (with chocolate dipped oranges and wasabi ice cream).
Sumosam is evolving and creating one of a kind treats which are continually winning the hearts and tummies of the Filipino dining customers. Good Job Marvin and Raymond.
