Art is boundless. Anything you see, hear, or feel can looked at different way. Some will say it’s trash, others insists that it’s art. It’s limitless. The only art I currently enjoy are the visual arts, literature, music, and theater. At The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences, they introduced me to other forms of art – Living Art.

Yes folks, a pantomime is a form of art, and who better to demonstrate it than our very own Gasbog. He has performed outside the country. Pantomime isn’t as easy at it looks, but it’s fun to watch. There were artists doing on the spot caricatures, it only took a few minutes to finish and it served as a personalized giveaway during the event.

Now for the deeper side of art, comes the group Romancing Venus headed by Kooky Tuason who delivered her poems Transit and Shape-shifter . The group prepared different performances that evening, including musical performances, dance, and poetry. There were a couple of poetry reading, but there was one poem  that caught my attention, it was eargasmic. It’s about a cockroach watching a couple having sex. It was done in english and cebuano. There’s also this one creepy performance of a man cloaked, face covered with cloth while dancing and jumping to the beat of a drum. It’s a nice concept, but I think it’ll scare off the kids.

Before leaving I just had to see Kate Torralba perform her music. I love the song Drunk On Your Love and the story behind it. If the name sounds familiar it’s because she is a popular fashion designer. She’s now a seamstress-songstress. These are just part of the first of its series. The Living Art: The Live Art Project is a rare gathering of artists and enthusiasts. I’m glad that The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences made it possible.
