Try A Different Type of Entertainment – The Theater

Before the year ends, treat yourself with a different type of entertainment, a once in a life time experience as no performance will ever be repeated – the Theater.

There are  a lot of great shows lined up for the season, two of which are Repertory PhilippinesAlice in Wonderland  and  The Producers.

Alice in Wonderland is perfect for the whole family, especially the kids. It’s unique and colorful origami theme is a feast to the kid’s eye. Every props, costume and scene is an artwork.

Alice (30 of 36)

In the photo above Alice is played by Dani Gana and is alternating with Chaye Mogg during the run. The story of Alice is staged in a very fun way kids can even interact with Alice during the play. Kids get to sing with Alice after the Mad Hatter teaches them the song.  Alice also got help from the audience about riddles. I was happy seeing my 3-year old daughter raise her hand trying to guess the answer which she doesn’t know really, she just loves to participate.

Alice (7 of 36)

After watching the show last August, my 3 year-old daughter has never forgotten the lyrics from the song”I’m Mad, You’re Mad, We’re All Mad Here” That how good it was.

If you will be going out with your friends or on a date, go and watch The Producers.

The Producer is a record breaking Broadway comedy by Mel Brooks. The Philippine cast the best I’ve seen. The cast includes Carlo Orosa as Max Bialystock (alternating with Robie Zialcita) and Topper Fabregas as Leon Bloom.

The cast of the The Producers will fill every moment with laughter. The whole cases is just hilarious, watchin the iconic Audie Gemora play his role is like an early Christmas treat. I have totally respect him for being one of the pioneers of the Philippine theater and also as the head of Trumpets, but during that night I respected him more as an actor. He was able to protray his character more than Iwas expecting.

The Producers (3)

The other two characters to watch out for is Joel Trinidad as the Nazzi wannabee and Giselle Toengi as  Ulla Inga Hanson Benson Yanson Tallen Hallen Svadon Swanson. Yup that is her name. It was Giselle’s first time to be part of Repertory Philippines and she did learn a lot from the veterans. She was one of the best characters on stage (well every body was).

The Producers (1)

The Producers and Alice in Wonderland are just two of the shows that you must watch. Treat yourself with a different form of entertainment, a once in a lifetime experience as no performances are exactly alike. Each show/run is unique, never repeated.

Both shows end on December 15 and all performances are at Onstage, 2/F, Greenbelt 1, Paseo de Roxas cor. Legazpi St., Makati City.
