urban Athletics Unveiled a New Store Design at Greenbelt 3

urbanAthletics, a leading street lifestyle retailer known for its meticulous selection of sneakers and apparel from the most sought-after brands, recently unveiled a new design for its flagship store in Greenbelt 3 in Makati City. The refashioned store follows the urban-industrial look with a dramatic and inspiring design that was first introduced in its boutique in Conrad, S. Maison.

Established in 2009 by the same group that runs Toby’s Sports and RUNNR, urbanAthletics has attracted loyal customers who want to get their hands on the latest sneaker releases from the top sportswear brands. With a new store look and an improved product selection, the retailer hopes to increase its market share and establish its retail locations as an integral part of the local sneaker scene.

Space Encounters, a firm that specializes in interior branding and furniture production, led the creative execution of the new urbanAthletics store, taking inspiration from the brand’s image and culture—street-smart with polished class. Influenced by the new nomadic architecture that resulted from the departure from over-populated cities, the new store is an interpretation of a modern urban jungle with sleek cement walls and floors, and metal surfaces. The UA skeletal igloo is both a focal point and a brand identifier, while the architectural tree adds height to the space. Aiming for modern and dynamic while still championing the products, the design elements do not take away from the sneakers but add to elevating the products as if they were art pieces in a museum. The lighting focuses on the products, while the cement walls make the design and colors stand out.

We really wanted the new stores to establish urbanAthletics’ retail and brand identity, separating it from all the other sneaker boutiques in the country. The new design of our stores reflects our commitment to elevating the customer experience to a new level. When clients enter the space, we want them to feel like they are at the heart of the sneaker culture. We want them to feel the passion that urbanAthletics has for its well-curated selection of sneakers in a modern urban space that inspires creativity and individuality.” said Toby Claudio, President of Quorum International Inc., the parent company of urbanAthletics.
