Wafu was introduced by Chef Chris Oronce and Mr. Bryan Tiu, president of I-foods, Inc. (home of successful homegrown brands such as: Stackers, Miso-Ten, Kogi Bulgogi and Woo Galbi among others) back in September 2012. Chef Chris gained his experience working at the world’s most recognized Japanese restaurant Nobu located in New York among other world-renowned restaurants in the US, like MGM Grand Shibuya, Koi Restaurant at Planet Hollywood, Mesa Grill Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.
The passion for Japanese food and culture and the desire to cater to the Filipino market inspired Wafu’s menu, a synergy of modern and traditional Japanese dishes using French culinary techniques. To give guests the full and authentic Japanese dining experience, Wafu recommends their Skirt, Tiger Roll, Gyu Don, Soft Shell Crab Tempura, Ton Katsu, Roasted Halibut, and Angus Shortribs.
