The era of “agentic orchestration” has officially found a home in Manila. Workato, a global leader in Enterprise Model Context Protocol (MCP), announced the establishment of its Philippine subsidiary on April 22. This isn’t just another satellite office; it’s a strategic move to position the Philippines as both a key growth market and a global hub for the company’s customer success and business operations.
For local enterprises, this launch marks a shift from isolated AI experiments to a foundational era of connectivity. Workato’s entry signal a clear message: AI transformation doesn’t start with a model; it starts with a unified ecosystem where data, tools, and workflows are seamlessly connected.

Workato is planting its roots in the country’s most vital business districts to tap into diverse talent and industries:
- PBCom Tower, Makati: Situated in the heart of the financial district, focusing on enterprise and go-to-market strategies.
- Axis Tower, Alabang: Leveraging the massive concentration of technology and operations talent in the south.
- Hiring Goals: The company plans to grow its local team by 20-30% by the end of 2026, spanning roles in solutions consulting, partner management, and product support.
Leading the charge is Tyrone Borromeo, appointed as Managing Director for Workato Philippines. A native Filipino with over 25 years in the tech industry (including stints at Salesforce and MuleSoft), Borromeo is tasked with building a partner-led ecosystem.

“To now build our commercial presence in the place that has long powered Workato behind the scenes — that’s a chapter I’m proud to lead,” says Borromeo.
Workato is already powering some of the Philippines’ most iconic brands. At the launch, three “Pioneer Customer Awardees” were recognized for setting the benchmark in AI-driven transformation:
- Philippine Airlines (PAL): Streamlining HR and employee operations with high-volume automated transactions.
- Jollibee Foods Corporation: Connecting critical business systems to maintain agility in the retail space.
- Prince Retail Group: Modernizing enterprise workflows to drive measurable business outcomes.
At the core of this expansion is Workato’s Enterprise MCP platform. With over 100 fully managed MCP servers and a secure gateway, Workato provides the infrastructure that allows AI agents to actually take action within an enterprise. It’s the “governed” layer that ensures AI initiatives stay secure while driving real-world results.
