Xiaomi just gave its most accessible phone line a proper upgrade.
The Redmi A7 Pro has officially landed in the Philippines, and it is the first time Xiaomi has slapped a “Pro” label on anything in the Redmi A Series. That alone makes it worth paying attention to, especially when the starting price sits well under P6,000.
The phone is built around two things: a big screen and a battery that refuses to die. The display is a 6.9-inch panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 800 nits of peak brightness, which should hold up fine under direct sunlight. There is also Wet Touch Technology 2.0, which keeps the touchscreen responsive even with damp or oily fingers, plus triple TUV Rheinland eye-comfort certifications for anyone who spends long hours staring at their phone. So, everyone.

The battery is a 6,000mAh unit that Xiaomi says can last over two days on a single charge. In more specific terms, that translates to up to 49 hours of calls, 35 hours of video playback, or 77 hours of music. The battery is also rated for 1,000 charge cycles while retaining over 80 percent of its capacity, which is a nice long-term durability promise for a budget phone.
Under the hood, you get an octa-core processor, UFS 2.2 high-speed storage, and support for up to 8GB of RAM expansion. It also runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which is a first for the Redmi A Series. That brings Google Gemini integration, Circle to Search, and Xiaomi HyperIsland for smoother multitasking.
On the camera side, the Redmi A7 Pro has a 13MP AI dual camera at the back with an enlarged sensor that takes in 13 percent more light than before, HDR+ support, and a night mode for low-light shots. The front camera is 8MP with its own night mode. There is also an AI Sky feature for touching up backgrounds in photos, and a Document Mode that turns the camera into a portable scanner for receipts and notes.
Other practical additions include NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a side fingerprint sensor, and a 200 percent volume boost for when you really need the whole room to hear what you are playing. The phone comes in at 8.15mm thin and is available in Black, Mist Blue, Palm Green, and Sunset Orange.
Pricing runs at P5,599 for the 4GB plus 64GB variant and P6,599 for the 4GB plus 128GB option, both at promo pricing valid from May 22 to June 30. Follow Xiaomi Philippines on Facebook to keep tabs on the latest deals.
