XPENG Enters PH: September Launch with X9 & L03 EVs

When the rapid influx of Chinese automotive brands first began transforming Philippine roads, the conversation revolved almost entirely around value—generous feature lists, striking exterior styling, and long electric ranges delivered at accessible price points. But as those advantages become the industry baseline, the market is inevitably shifting toward a more nuanced question: which brands are bringing something fundamentally different to the driving experience?

This coming September, XPENG is stepping into the local automotive landscape to answer that question with a radically broader proposition. Rather than positioning itself simply as another EV competitor, the global AI and technology pioneer is introducing the Philippines to a brand-new category it calls AI Mobility.

Led by Sam Chu, General Manager for Southeast Asia, XPENG’s arrival is rooted in the philosophy that the next generation of transport will not be defined solely by how a vehicle is powered, but by how intelligently it understands, anticipates, and serves its occupants.

Kicking off its grand Philippine debut next month, XPENG is rolling out two distinct models tailored for contrasting lifestyles. Spearheading the lineup is the XPENG X9, an executive-class intelligent seven-seater designed to elevate family travel and executive commutes with unmatched spatial comfort and advanced AI tech. Complementing the flagship is the XPENG L03, a sleek and sporty intelligent SUV coupe that brings intuitive, software-defined mobility to progressive everyday professionals.

What truly sets XPENG apart, however, is the sheer scale of the technology ecosystem backing these vehicles. With over 40% of its workforce dedicated strictly to research and development across artificial intelligence, robotics, and advanced software engineering, XPENG treats intelligence as a core capability rather than an afterthought.

This deep expertise in Physical AI extends far beyond the passenger cabin. XPENG’s broader ecosystem includes IRON, an advanced humanoid robot designed to assist with physical and conversational interactions; ARIDGE, a low-altitude mobility affiliate developing the modular Land Aircraft Carrier (combining a ground vehicle with a detachable electric aircraft); and hyper-automated smart factories powered by AI precision.

When Filipinos step into XPENG’s upcoming launch next month, the X9 and L03 will undoubtedly take center stage. But beneath the metal and glass lies a much bigger story: a glimpse into a future where artificial intelligence doesn’t just assist your drive—it actively begins to move the world around you.
