HUAWEI FreeBuds 4i Review

HUAWEI FreeBuds 4i Review

We’ve come to a point wherein an earphone or headset has become a necessity because of our current set-up, from distance learning to virtual meetings, and of course entertainment. HUAWEI released an addition to its Freebuds line-up to fill in the gap for affordable, quality TWS, the HUAWEI Freebuds 4i.

The HUAWEI Freebuds 4i is priced at ₱3,599 and will come with a free case worth ₱599. It’s currently the most affordable among HUAWEI’s TWS line-up. Even cheaper than my favorite, the Freelace Pro.

  • HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro – ₱6,799.00
  • HUAWEI FreeBuds 3i – ₱5,990.00
  • HUAWEI FreeBuds 3i – ₱5,990.00

Although cheaper than the its predecessor, it carries all of their best qualities.

Weighing around 46g (case and earbuds included) and a premium finish, it also feels delicate. Good thing it comes with a case to protect and “cutify” it if you feel like it. Each bud weighs around 5g and it almost feels like your wearing nothing at all. It fits well and sturdy even after whipping my head back and forth. It comes with two sets of ear tips in case you need to make adjustments.

Pairing is pretty easy, you can download the HUAWEI AI Life app and just choose the FreeBuds 4i among the list of devices in the app. For some phones, the FreeBuds 4i doesn’t show, just connect and pair it via bluetooth. It has a pairing button at the side you can use to pair it with other phones.

The buds also features controls just like the previous buds to play/pause music, answer/end call, and to turn on/off ANC and Awareness mode. What it’s missing is the option to control the volume from buds itself. The awareness mode is what I use outdoor because it amplifies outside noise to keep you aware of the surroundings. Sound quality wise, I’m no expert in sound but all I can say is that I’m having a great experience using it. I love listening to music and I love it when I can hear each musical instrument and enjoy the band play. I’ve also used it during meetings and it captures my voice clearly.

The FreeBuds 4i leads its predecessor when it comes to battery life each bud can last up to 10hrs while the with the charging case it’s stretched to 22hrs. In real-life lasts a little less than that because of the frequency of and switching between ANC on/off and Awareness modes.

As a summary, the FreeBuds 4i is worth every penny you pay for and there isn’t one comparable to it. It’s bridges the gap between premium and budget. Capturing the important features in the high-end TWS and a premium design.
