It’s been a long time since I had my hands on an OPPO phone. It was probably around 5 years since I was able to use an OPPO phone and the OPPO Renno 6 5G just showed me how much I am missing.
First of the design is nothing I have handled before. It didn’t have the smudge-friendly, glossy finish that leaves a lot of prints. It can easily be gripped and doesn’t slip because of its texture. It’s one of those phones that are too good to cover up with a case and also too good to be not to be protected with a case. So, you decide how you want to go about it.

OPPO Reno6 Z 5G’s 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display also comes with a 90hz refresh rate which makes way for an awesome gaming experience. The punchhole is nothing new anymore, so I am waiting when they’ll release their under the display camera which they already featured long ago.
It has the sim tray and volume rocker on the right side and the power button at the left. At the bottom you still get a headphone jack, a type-c port, and a the speaker.
At the back, of course, is the 64MP main shooter, 8MP wide, and 2MP macro camera that produces decent quality photos especially in a dim-lit area. But I prefer the selfie camera even more. It produces awesome bokeh.
The 32MP selfie snapper captures clear and awesome selfies. There’s not much beautification done, it’s just me my perfectly flawless skin. The photo below showcases the awesome bokeh that I like, it didn’t look that it was digitized or whatever. However, it gets tricky when there are more than one person in front of the camera.

Under the hood, it comes with an MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor which is built for gaming and heavy usage, assisted by an 8GB RAM and 5G connection, it’s going to be an ultimate gaming and multimedia experience. OPPOS’
It has 128GB RAM with no room additional storage which fine with me because I currently own a smartphone with 128GB storage and I only consume 60-80GB. The finger print scanner under the display works like a charm.
OPPO has ColorOS v11 on top of the Android 11 system which promises to run like it was new or just out of the box even for a long time. Some of the notable features of the ColorOS is its UltraSteady videos while in motion and a cinematic”Hitchcock” video shot.
The battery capacity is at 4310mAh battery w/ 30W fast charging that gors from 0-100% in less than an hour and honestly it lasts me around 3-5 days of not charging on my regular. Since I am at home most of the time, I only use wifi. I don’t get much phone calls and I use it only for socials, a bit of streaming and gaming since I don’t have much time when working from home.
For PHP 19,999, OPPO Reno6 Z 5G is on the high-end side of the midrange phones, well because it can compete with flagship models. It’s something to consider when you are up for an upgrade now that the bells are ringing and your bonuses is are peeping.
