Samsung has officially held onto its crown as the world’s top TV seller for the 19th consecutive year. That’s quite a run, wouldn’t you say?
According to the latest figures from market research gurus at Omdia, Samsung snagged a whopping 28.3% share of the global TV market in 2024. They’ve been holding onto that number one spot since way back in 2006, which speaks volumes about their consistency and innovation.
So, what’s their secret sauce? Well, it seems to be a combination of focusing on those gorgeous, ultra-large screens we all love, and constantly pushing the boundaries with premium technology, especially those new AI-powered TVs we’ve been hearing about.

Hun Lee, a top exec at Samsung, put it nicely: “Our 19-year reign is all thanks to the trust and support of our customers. We’re not planning on slowing down; we’ll keep shaping the future of TV with exciting innovations like AI, delivering products that really enhance how we live.”
It’s not just about overall sales, though. Samsung is really dominating the high-end of the market. Think about those stunning TVs priced at $2,500 and up – Samsung owns nearly half of that entire global segment, a solid 49.6% to be exact. And when it comes to those immersive, 75-inch and larger screens that make movie nights truly cinematic, they’re leading there too, with a 28.7% market share.
Their QLED technology continues to be a major success, with over 8 million units sold and a commanding 46.8% market share. Interestingly, the global QLED market itself is booming, now accounting for over 10% of all TV sales.
Even in the OLED arena, where competition is fierce, Samsung is making significant strides. Their OLED TV sales jumped to 1.44 million units in 2024, securing a healthy 27.3% market share. That’s a substantial 42% increase in unit sales compared to the previous year, showing that people are definitely drawn to what Samsung is offering in the OLED space.
Looking ahead, Samsung isn’t resting on its laurels. At CES earlier this year, they unveiled Vision AI, which sounds like a game-changer. It’s AI that goes beyond just picture quality, analyzing your viewing habits to deliver a truly personalized experience. It’s hinting at a future where our TVs are even smarter and more intuitive.
And for those of us who appreciate a bit of art in our living spaces, Samsung is expanding its Art Store, previously exclusive to The Frame TV, to their Neo QLED and QLED models. Imagine having a curated digital art gallery right on your living room wall.
So, there you have it. Samsung continues its impressive run at the top, driven by a focus on premium quality, massive screens, and cutting-edge technology. It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with next to maintain that coveted top spot.
