Most televisions disappear into the wall when you turn them off. TCL’s new A400 Series is designed to do the opposite.
TCL Philippines has launched the A400 Series, a premium lifestyle television lineup that leans hard into the art-forward TV concept. The series comes in two models: the A400M and the A400 Pro, both built around the idea that a television should look like something worth having in your living room even when nobody is watching it.
The Art Gallery Mode is the centerpiece of that idea. When the TV is idle, it converts into a digital canvas preloaded with hundreds of iconic artworks spanning centuries of art history. On top of that, the A400 Series carries over 100,000 pre-generated AI artworks across styles from classical to impressionism, and you can filter by theme and style to match whatever aesthetic your room is going for. It is a more considered version of the ambient display concept that other TV brands have explored, with a significantly larger library behind it.
The two models differ mostly in panel and frame. The A400 Pro has an anti-reflection Matte HVA panel that cuts glare for rooms with more ambient light, and comes in a wooden frame that reinforces the gallery aesthetic. The A400M uses a traditional high-contrast HVA panel with a black frame, and is the more classic presentation of the two. Both are available exclusively through specific retailers: the A400M at Abenson, and the A400 Pro at SM Appliances.
On the display side, both models use QD-Mini LED technology with QLED quantum dot materials across multiple layers, rendering over a billion color hues with improved optical efficiency and a claimed 10 percent energy saving. The TSR AiPQ Processor handles pixel-level optimization in real time, working alongside TCL’s AI model to keep picture quality consistent across different content types.
Audio is handled by a built-in ONKYO 2.0 Hi-Fi system. ONKYO has been setting home theater standards for over 80 years, and the integration here is meant to give the A400 Series a sonic presence that matches its visual ambitions.
The A400 Series is also a full smart TV platform powered by TCL’s quantum supercomputing platform and Mariana database, with built-in intelligent agents that optimize picture, sound, interaction, and content discovery over time.
