How Filipino Art is Traveling the World via UPS

Imagine holding a piece of Filipino culture in your hands, knowing it is about to travel thousands of miles across the globe. For many of us, logistics is just about boxes and tracking numbers. But a beautiful new collaboration is proving that even the simplest delivery envelope can carry the very heart and soul of the Philippines to the rest of the world.

This story begins with a partnership that has been quietly moving the country forward for decades. The Delbros Group and UPS recently expanded their reach with the launch of the new UPS-Delbros Clark Hub. While this massive hub means faster shipping and stronger business connections, the people behind it wanted to do something deeper. They wanted to make sure that as our logistics infrastructure grows, Filipino talent flies right along with it.

To bring this vision to life, Delbros teamed up with the creative minds at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde for a nationwide envelope design contest. The challenge was simple yet profound: show the world what Filipino hope, culture, and resilience look like. Over four hundred young artists from all over the country poured their hearts into their sketchpads, each hoping to see their work travel the globe.

Out of all those incredible submissions, one piece captured the essence of our everyday lives so perfectly that it took home the grand prize. Student artist Lauren Kerby Obaldo won the hearts of the judges with her masterpiece titled Haraya sa Kalsada. The word haraya translates to imagination or vision, and her art beautifully captures the lively, colorful energy of Filipino streets. It is a visual love letter to our shared journeys, our vibrant jeepneys, and the persistent warmth of our communities.

What makes this win so special is where the artwork is heading next. Lauren’s design will be printed directly on UPS Express Envelopes, turning ordinary shipping packages into traveling canvases. Soon, these envelopes will be circulated across more than two hundred countries and territories. Every time someone in Tokyo, New York, or Paris receives an urgent document, they will get a glimpse of the rich artistic spirit of the Philippines.

The significance of this milestone was felt deeply during the awarding ceremony, which was graced by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos alongside the leadership teams of Delbros and UPS. For Paolo Delgado of the Delbros Group, this initiative is a proud realization of what happens when global logistics meets local creativity. It proves that our young dreamers do not just belong in local galleries, they deserve a global stage.

At its core, this project reminds us that we are more than just a hub for global trade. We are a nation of storytellers, creators, and dreamers. The next time you see a package ready for shipment, remember that it carries more than just cargo. It carries our shared imagination, flying high and reaching every corner of the world.
