Huawei is set to introduce two new devices in the Philippines: the HUAWEI nova Y73 smartphone and the HUAWEI FreeBuds 6 wireless earbuds. The nova Y73 is positioned as a durable smartphone with extended battery life and the new HUAWEI X-Button feature, while the FreeBuds 6 aim to provide an enhanced audio experience with lossless transmission and a dual-driver unit.
HUAWEI nova Y73: Extended Battery Life and Robust Build
The HUAWEI nova Y73 is equipped with a large 6620mAh Super Battery, designed for extended usage with up to 1.4 days of video playback, 2.6 days of music listening, and 2.2 days of call time on a full charge. This battery maintains a slim device profile and is rated to function in temperatures as low as -20°C.
The nova Y73 is the first in its series to support 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge Turbo, enabling up to 5 hours of movie-watching from a 10-minute charge. The device also features AI Battery saving technology and has received global battery safety certification.
In terms of durability, the HUAWEI nova Y73 incorporates an optimized architecture with high-strength, high-thermal conductivity aluminum alloy, providing 360° protection and 5-star drop resistance certified by SGS. It can withstand drops up to 1.8 meters and pressures up to 65kg. The device also boasts an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, designed for daily wear and tear. Aesthetically, the nova Y73 features a slim build, Double Star Orbit Rings, and a Dynamic Plaid Texture on its rear panel.
The HUAWEI nova Y73 integrates several features for a more convenient user experience:
- HUAWEI X-Button: This innovative button provides single-click access to a Quick Access shortcut menu for frequently used apps. Double-clicking or long-pressing can efficiently open core applications. The X-Button is customizable for One Click Tools access and One Click Call functions.
- Infrared Smart Remote: The smartphone can function as a multi-function remote control for home appliances, allowing users to manage devices like air conditioners and TVs.
- EMUI 12: The device runs on EMUI 12, offering enhanced privacy and security features such as Privacy Center and Security Center for managing app permissions and personalized ads.
- Storage: The HUAWEI nova Y73 includes 256GB of internal storage.
HUAWEI FreeBuds 6: Open-Fit Audio with Dual Driver Technology
Alongside the smartphone, Huawei is launching the HUAWEI FreeBuds 6. These are presented as the first open-fit earbuds featuring a dual-driver unit and HUAWEI Sound, engineered to deliver strong bass and clear trebles. The FreeBuds 6 support up to 2.3Mbps lossless audio transmission for high-resolution music. For communication, they offer AI Call Noise Cancellation for clearer calls. The earbuds are designed with an ergonomic droplet shape for comfort and a secure fit.
The HUAWEI nova Y73 is slated for official release in the Philippines in June. Early bird vouchers for the HUAWEI nova Y73, valued at PHP 300, are available from June 13 to July 31 on TikTok, Shopee, and Lazada.
Early bird vouchers for the HUAWEI FreeBuds 6, valued at PHP 500, are also available on Shopee, TikTok, and Lazada. Additionally, FreeBuds 6 buyers can receive a free umbrella (worth PHP 900) and a 1-year HUAWEI Loss Care, which provides a 50% discount on a single replacement earbud.
