LG Philippines has initiated a special partnership with the National Museum of Natural History, integrating art, technology, and heritage. The collaboration’s centerpiece is “Fragments,” a solo art exhibition by Isaiah Cacnio, the first digital and motion graphics artist to be featured at the National Museum.
“Fragments”: Reinterpreting Earth’s Story with LG OLED Displays
The immersive “Fragments” exhibit utilizes LG OLED display technology to recontextualize the Earth’s geological narrative, emphasizing the Philippines’ ecological richness. The exhibit visually portrays natural forces that have shaped both the landscape and Filipino identity, from volcanic origins to weathered stone and flowing water.

Running for one month, the exhibit at the Ayala Reception Hall on the second floor of the National Museum of Natural History features three digital pieces: “Where Fire Begins,” “Stories in Stone,” and “What Breaks, Flows.” These works, displayed on LG OLED AI TVs, blend art, science, and emotion to reflect the Philippines’ geological and cultural evolution. Cacnio commented, “Even in fracture, there is flow. Even in separation, there is connection,” highlighting how shared history and resilience shape national identity.

Cacnio acknowledged the milestone, stating, “It’s a great honor to be one of the few artists to use LG OLED for art, joining global artists like Refik Anadol, Steve Harrington, and many others.” LG supports digital creators globally through LGOLEDArt.com, utilizing OLED as a canvas for immersive media art. Cacnio added, “New media and digital art are growing internationally, and I’m proud to be the first artist from the Philippines to take part in this movement.”
Following the exhibit’s unveiling, LG reaffirmed its commitment to Filipino culture by donating over ₱500,000 worth of display technology, including LG StanbyME units and monitors, to the National Museum of Natural History. This donation enhances the museum’s ability to offer immersive and dynamic visitor engagement, blending technology with culture and natural history.

This latest donation follows previous support for the museum’s opening in 2018 and recent contributions to the National Museum of Fine Arts, underscoring LG’s mission to enrich communities through technology, education, and cultural appreciation. This effort also marks LG’s 12th consecutive year as the world’s No. 1 OLED TV brand.

Mr. Nakhyun Seong, Managing Director of LG Philippines, highlighted the significance of celebrating the 127th anniversary of Philippine Independence at the National Museum of Natural History amidst the nation’s biodiversity. He praised the collaboration with Isaiah Cacnio, noting how his art bridges nature, technology, and geology through digital creativity. Seong emphasized LG’s milestone as the leading OLED TV brand and its ongoing commitment to “make Filipino lives better” by blending global technology with local culture and heritage preservation.

Mr. Yongwoo Park, LG’s Product Director for Media Solutions, introduced LG’s Affectionate Intelligence philosophy, which focuses on AI that adapts personally to human needs. He stated, “We don’t just build smart TVs. We build experiences that are warm, personal, and intuitive,” highlighting how LG’s AI-powered OLED TVs enhance daily life.

Director-General Jeremy Barns, CESO III of the National Museum of the Philippines, expressed gratitude for LG’s donation, calling it “another milestone in a long-standing collaboration that has allowed us to push the boundaries of what a museum can be in the 21st century.” Barns noted the evolving role of museums to be dynamic and engaging through multimedia visuals, enabling the National Museum “to do more and do better in bringing our Filipino heritage, our Filipino stories, to life.” He concluded that technology, when thoughtfully integrated, helps connect people to their heritage, foster understanding, and inspire curiosity, making public programs more inclusive and meaningful.
