realme C25 Review: Ready To Accept Any Challenges

realme is continually breaking the limits on entry-level smartphones, this time with a 6000mAh battery paired with an 18W quick charge on a USB Type C port on its latest phone, the realme C25.

A big leap from the C15, the realme C25 also has huge improvements compared to its predecessor. The C25 is the first smartphone to get the TÜV Rheinland Smartphone High-Reliability Certification. What’s it all about?

“The Smartphone High-Reliability Certification test conditions are based on the three-year life cycle of smartphones. The process encompasses 23 major tests, including ten daily use test scenarios, such as drop, wear, and tear; seven extreme environment test scenarios, including super extreme temperature, extreme humidity, voltage fluctuation, button life, static electricity, air pressure; and six component reliability test scenarios.”

So to sum it up, it’ll certify how reliable your phone is or how irreplaceable the phone is. As for me, the C25 has a strong built and feels really sturdy but it does not feel heavy.

The buttons are where they’re commonly placed – volume rocker and lock/power button on the right and the triple card slot (1 micro SD + 2 nano SIM) on the left. There are no buttons on top, the speaker, 3.5mm port, and microphones are placed at the bottom. Surprisingly realme’s entry-level smartphone now comes with a USB Type C port.

Although there were no changes made in the display department, I believe it was done to maintain a competitive price. The 6.5 inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1600 still delivers a great user experience in gaming, entertainment, and everyday use. I have no problem with that since the realme C25 is in the entry-level category.

At the back has a triple camera set up compared which is one less camera lens compared to its predecessor, the C15. The C25 has a 48MP (f/1.8 wide) + 2MP (f/2.4 macro) + 2MP (f/2.4 depth) for depth at the back that takes decent photos. The colors are vivid, especially in a well-lit setting. The image also stands out even if there isn’t much light like the paella below. The blurring effect is clean, it clearly separates the subject from the background.

With the rise of TikTok, its camera is perfect for those dance moves, comedy skits and all that talk. realme C25’s powerful and swift performance helps you edit and manage those videos easily.

realme C25 upgrades to the Helio G70 from the Helio G35 on the C15 complemented by Mali G52 GPU and MediaTek’s HyperEngine Game enhancements. It only comes with 4GB unlike the former where you have an option to go for a 3GB, this time you won’t have a hard time deciding which to get. As far as performance is concerned I didn’t have any issues running my favorite games – Asphalt 9 and Call of Duty which are heavy on performance. I also love the Game Space app. It’s something you think you don’t need until you start spending more playing games. It displays the game’s consumption/usage, switches performance modes, and allows you to manage notifications, calls, and messages.

  • CPU / GPU performance
  • FPS display
  • Capture / Record screen
  • Block notifications
  • Reject calls
  • Interact with WhatsApp or messenger
  • Signal / battery information

The realme C25 comes with a large-capacity 6000mAh battery that can last up to 47 days on standby mode, 43 hours of the call, 60 hours of music streaming, and 25 hours of video playback, which are far better than some flagship phones, according to a test by realme Lab. Complementing this massive battery is an 18W Type C quick-charge technology, which allows the drained device to charge to 29 percent in just 30 minutes.

realme C25 may not have a lot to offer in terms of performance, display, or, photos but let’s not forget it’s an entry-level smartphone, and probably the best in its category. It may not have all the bells and whistles you want on a phone, but it delivers everything you needed and more, at a very competitive price – Php7,490.
