This is exactly why the recent collaboration between TP in the Philippines, formerly known as Teleperformance, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology Region 10 is so timely and inspiring. Through its site in Cagayan de Oro, TP recently turned over fifteen high-quality computer units to support the government agency’s Smart Village Initiative in Northern Mindanao.
These computers are far more than just pieces of office hardware. For the learners in the communities of Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Bukidnon, these machines represent a real gateway to the future. They are the tools that will power essential training programs designed to change lives. Local students and community members will soon gain hands-on experience in office productivity software, learn how to navigate modern artificial intelligence tools, and understand the ins and outs of social media marketing.
By bringing these resources directly to rural areas, this joint effort is addressing the digital divide where it hurts the most. Instead of having to move to major metropolitan hubs like Manila or Cebu to search for stable jobs, local talents can now build their skills right in their home provinces. The training they receive prepares them for tech-enabled careers and digital livelihoods that they can pursue without having to leave their families behind.
