TECNO Mobile Philippines has officially launched the POVA Curve 2 5G nationwide, and the pitch is simple: a phone that keeps going long after everything else has died. The tagline is “Power That Never Drops,” and with an 8,000mAh battery packed into what is currently the world’s slimmest curved-display 5G smartphone, that is not just marketing talk.
At 7.42mm thick and 195 grams, the POVA Curve 2 5G does not feel like a phone that should be carrying a battery this size. But here we are. On a full charge, TECNO claims you get up to 72 hours of continuous use, 103.4 hours of music playback, 18.8 hours of gaming, or 33.8 hours of navigation. For those keeping score, that is three days of normal use before you even think about reaching for a charger. When you do need to top up, 45W fast charging gets you to 50 percent in 36 minutes.
There is also Bypass Charging 2.0, which lets the phone pull power directly from the charger during heavy gaming or streaming sessions rather than cycling through the battery. It runs cooler, and your battery health thanks you in the long run. And if a friend’s phone is dying, the POVA Curve 2 5G can act as a 10W reverse wired power bank. Helpful.
Signal is the other big story here. TECNO built in their own G1 signal enhancement chipset alongside an SE1 Wi-Fi enhancement chip, working with their UPS 3.0 optimization algorithm. The result is support for 20 5G bands, double what the previous model had, a 33 percent reduction in network latency, and a 70 percent boost in upload speeds. The Hyper Antenna Matrix covers 90 percent of the chassis with antenna elements, which in practical terms means fewer dropped calls inside Makati elevators and more stable connections during your MRT ride home.
On the spec sheet, you get a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G processor, a 6.78-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 4,500 nits of peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for protection. Camera setup is a 50MP main shooter with a 2MP macro lens at the back, and a 13MP selfie camera up front. The phone is also IP64 rated, SGS 5-Star Drop Resistance certified for falls up to 1.5 meters, and runs HiOS 16 on top of Android 16 with built-in AI tools. Dolby Atmos stereo speakers and an in-display fingerprint sensor round things out.
The POVA Curve 2 5G comes in three colorways, Mystic Purple, Melting Silver, and Storm Titanium, and every purchase includes a TECNO Gift Box and a Globe 5G SIM with unlimited 5G and free data for a year.
