BingoPlus Foundation Brings Healthcare to Southern PH

DigiPlus Interactive Corporation and its CSR arm, BingoPlus Foundation, are extending their reach in providing much-needed healthcare to underserved communities in the Philippines. Through their KalusuganPLUS Program, they focused on the southern provinces during the first quarter of 2025, addressing critical health concerns.

Combating Dengue in Palawan:

Responding to a significant dengue outbreak in Palawan, where Narra experienced the highest number of cases and fatalities, the KalusuganPLUS Program organized a two-day medical mission in Barangays Princess Urduja and Antipluan on March 6 and 7. Volunteer doctors collaborated with local health workers to provide free medical services to 1,300 residents across 12 barangays. The primary goal was to boost immunization against various illnesses, including dengue. Residents also received crucial education on dengue prevention methods and sanitation practices they could easily implement at home.

Dr. Gina Tagyab, the Municipal Health Officer of Narra, expressed her gratitude: “Our partnership with DigiPlus and BingoPlus Foundation has been invaluable in addressing our community’s healthcare needs. This initiative provided much-needed services while reinforcing efforts in disease prevention and public health education. We are truly grateful for this collaboration, which has significantly improved the well-being of our residents.”

Bridging Healthcare Gaps in Quezon Province:

In Mulanay, Quezon Province, where the lack of a local hospital poses a significant challenge for its 50,000 residents, BingoPlus Foundation stepped in through its KalusuganPLUS Program. Residents often face a 30 to 40-minute journey to the nearest hospital, a difficult situation, especially for the elderly and those needing regular medical attention. Dr. Ma. Melissa Tesalona, the Municipality Health Unit Head of Mulanay, highlighted the challenges of medicine and vitamin shortages for the elderly.

Recognizing this urgent need, the foundation partnered with Mulanay’s Health Unit and the Mulunay Central Elementary Alumni Association to conduct a two-day medical mission from April 11 to 12, 2025. This initiative provided free medical consultations, basic health screenings, and essential medications to over 1,200 residents, bringing critical care directly to the community. A significant portion of the patients, aged 35 to 75, sought treatment for chronic conditions like high blood pressure, arthritis, and diabetes.

Ensuring Healthcare Access for Every Filipino:

Paul Tamayo, BingoPlus Foundation’s Program Manager for Health and Resilience, emphasized the foundation’s core belief: “At BingoPlus Foundation, we believe that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Through our KalusuganPLUS Medical Mission, we aim to bridge the healthcare gap by offering free consultations, checkups, and preventive care. Beyond addressing immediate health concerns, we empower communities with knowledge on disease prevention and overall well-being.”

DigiPlus and BingoPlus Foundation are committed to expanding healthcare access across the Philippines. Their efforts extend beyond medical missions to include flu vaccinations, optical missions for seniors, HIV awareness campaigns, breast cancer advocacy, and providing grants to hospitals and healthcare facilities.
