HUAWEI Matebook D15 (2022) Review

Having spent so much time with the new Matebook D15, I can easily say that I’ve enjoyed every “bit” of it. It may not be as impressive on paper but it packs a punch in real-life applications.

Although the Matebook D15 looks big, because of its massive 15.6” FHD display, it is built and designed for mobile use it has a ton of ports for connecting an assortment of peripherals and its weight makes it easy to carry around.

Although the Matebook D15 looks big, because of its massive 15.6” FHD display, it is built and designed for mobile use it has a ton of ports for connecting an assortment of peripherals and its weight makes it easy to carry around. The keys are spread out nicely that even my wife’s short chubby fingers can easily navigate the keys. At the upper centre is where you’ll find the popular recessed camera although you need to get yourself a better angle otherwise people will be looking at your chin and nostrils.

At the right corner of it where you’ll find the Smart Fingerprint Power Button. It saves you the hassle of typing your password every time you need to access the notebook.

HUAWEI also made sure that you get to work the long hours with 4-5hrs battery life and its 65W adapter that gives up to 2 hours of power in just 15 minutes of charging. Speaking of charging, the USB-Type C also supports reverse charging when you connect a compatible device, this is useful especially when you’re outside tethering your mobile internet to your laptop because it does use a lot of power and may drain your smartphone battery faster.

The Matebook D15 isn’t just all-work and no-play, it’s also capable of providing an all-around multimedia experience with its FullView Display, two 2W speakers, 11th Gen Intel® CoreTM Processor, Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics, and HUAWEI Sharkfin Fan for its cooling system. Your mom won’t blame playing video games or binge-watching K-drama on the HUAWEI Matebook D15 for your poor eyesight because it has passed TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free certifications.

As you see playing Valorant was as easy as writing creating a PowerPoint presentation or writing an article in Word. No lags or issues whatsoever were experienced whilst playing.

What makes HUAWEI Matebooks special is the ecosystem built around it with Super Device. You can collaborate with your smartphone and do work seamlessly.

  • Control the smartphone on the laptop side, but also get access to the rich app ecosystem through a laptop.
  • Files can be shared between two devices by a simple drag-and-drop.
  • Peripherals such as a mouse and keyboard can be used to control the smartphone.
  • Use the laptop to answer audio and video calls received on the smartphone.
  • Users can unlock and control the smartphone from HUAWEI MateBook.
  • Use your table to mirror or extend your laptop display.

These are just some of the things you can do with your Matebook and other smart devices and there are more features to come with updates.

The HUAWEI Matebook D15 is a device that perfectly represents work-life balance. It captures the need of the modern-day young professional living the Smart Life. Its large display allows you to scroll through Excel sheets at the same time watch and play games in high-definition. As most of our activities are done on a smartphone, HUAWEI found a way to empower your smartphone and collaborate with the Matebook for seamless work integration.
