Realme C1 Review – The Entry Level King

The smartphone battle used to be focused only on the flag bearers and the mid range categories. Not much were given attention to entry level units until Realme came along. As a welcoming gift tot he Philippines, Realme brought what they dubbed to be the #RealEntryLevelKing, the Realme C1.

The Real Entry Level King – Realme C1

They don’t call it the #RealEntryLevelKing for nothing. They backed it up with big screen, large battery capacity, dual camera, fast processor, gorilla glass for protection and a stylish body and trendy design.

Like what most brands do on their entry level, Realme C1 does not come with an earphone to maintain its price range, but it’s a good deal nevertheless.

Inside Realme C1 is a complete package:

  • 6.2 Inch HD+ IPS Touch Screen
  • 1.8GHz Octa Core Snapdragon 450 Processor
  • 2GB RAM and 16GB storage
  • Triple card slot (dual sim + memory card up to 256GB)
  • 13MP + 2MP Dual Camera With LED
  • 5MP Selfie Camera
  • Bluetooth 4.2
  • Dual 4G VoLTE/WiFi
  • 4230 MAh Battery.

At first glance, it’s probably the most stylish entry level smartphone I’ve had my hands on. It has a solid build with a metallic side finish and a glossy polycarbonate material at the back. The absence of the finger print sensor is compensated with the face unlock feature.

As part of the OPPO family, Realme also comes with the Color OS, the C1 comes with Color OS 5.5 based on Andriod Oreo 8.1 and an AI Power Master feature that optimizes power consumption of apps and control the number of processor cores to maximize its 4,230mAh battery and avoid power waste.

Its 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras can deliver decent photos which is more than what you can expect from an entry-level phone. It performs at its best at a well lit environment, and under performs at minimal lighting. The front camera isn’t as impressive as its selfie-centric cousins but it has inherited its bells and whistles including AR stickers.

What I love about the Realme C1:

  • Big 6.2″ notch screen
  • Battery life
  • Dual rear camera
  • Stylish body and trendy design
  • Price! Php 5,990.00

In conclusion, Realme C1 gave entry level phones the attention it deserves and also brought the entry level game in to a whole new level. Realme C1 truly deserves the #RealEntryLevelKing title. Currently sold online at Lazada and it comes in Mirror Black and Navy Blue.
