Rapoo C280 Webcam Review – 2K HD for Only 2K

Rapoo C280 Webcam Review – 2K HD for Only 2K

No matter how specs-rich your laptop is, the camera it comes with still sucks. Even the most expensive your laptop is, the webcam is the least priority in their features. This is the main reason why you still need to invest in a quality webcam and Rapoo, understands the need for a quality camera that people can use as they attend their online meetings and schoolwork

If you love the Rapoo C260, you’ll love the Rapoo C280 even more. It’s the third model from their webcam series. That’s why Rapoo is bringing in a 3rd model of their webcam series, the Rapoo C280. Compared to the C260, the C280 has a 2560×1440 max resolution. Here are the rest of the specs:

  • 2K autofocus HD image
  •  85° wide-angle, wide field of view
  • Camera privacy protection cover
  • Five-layer coated lens
  • Built-in omnidirectional dual noise reduction microphone
  • Adjustable silicone base
  • 360° horizontal rotation lens:
  • Protective magnetic ring

We have the Rapoo C280 on the left and the Rapoo C260 on the right. Aside from being bigger, it comes with a camera cover for privacy. The cover, I believe should be mandatory to cameras since our devices and equipment can easily be hacked. Although bigger, the C280 doesn’t feel heavy.

It has a wider field of view (85°) and can be rotated 360° horizontally to get your best angle. The silicone base can be adjusted to fit every monitor size. It’s non-slip to prevent sliding and scratching your monitor.

The camera has a fast auto focus system that also adjust to low light environments. I had a meeting with myself using Zoom and had two computers with two different camera. This was taken in a low light situation. The one of them is using Rapoo and the other is a built-in camera.

Although I prefer using a microphone, sometimes I hate it when it captures my breath or the enunciations. The built-in omnidirectional dual noise reduction microphone in the Rapoo C280 is capable of receiving audio as far as 3 meters. It’s great if you’re doing tutorials or presentations. Especially if a headset/mic is bothering you. A protective magnetic ring is added to reduce signal interference when using it.

Lockdowns may end, but online meetings will continue as companies have adapt to work-from-home set ups. Might as well upgrade your camera. Believe, me it makes a huge difference.

System requirements: Windows 7/8/10 or higher, Mac OS X 10.6 or higher, Chrome OS and Android v5.0 or higher.
