Ascott Bonifacio Global City Manila celebrated their 5th year anniversary with its a Christmas tree lighting ceremony attended by their chosen beneficiary, Gawad Kalinga.
At the lobby, guests are greeted with Santa’s Toy Factory, something you don’t normally see at hotels, and also a giant Christmas tree. Most hotels only have Christmas trees but Ascott has added attraction for the kids and young at heart.
The guests were entertained with a Christmas presentation by the kids of Gawad Kalinga while Santa’s helpers where going around passing on Christmas card ornament to guests to help out the less privileged. Each card is worth a Php 100 wherein guests can write their name and wishes before hanging it on the tree. Php 100 will provide 6 nutritious meals to children in public schools, streets and conflict areas.
Ascott awarded a check amounting to Php 850,983.55 to Gawad Kalinga. Ascott has been supporting the organization for the past four years in helping the community feed 700 kids via Kusina ng Kalinga. The strong relationship between Ascott and Gawad Kalinga gives meaning to Ascott’s credo— “Building People, Building Community” Also you might want to check out their other Christmas tree at Alta Restaurant, it’a made from plastic bottles.
