BYD Cars Philippines, in partnership with its official distributor ACMobility, recently made a significant splash at De La Salle University (DLSU) with their first-ever campus showcase. From February 10th to 12th, the Henry Sy Sr. Hall Grounds transformed into a hub of electric vehicle (EV) exploration, giving students, faculty, and staff a firsthand look at the future of transportation.
This wasn’t just a static display; it was a dynamic “BYD Tech Tour” featuring the brand’s latest EVs, including the Sealion 6 DM-i, Seagull, and Seal. Attendees got up close and personal with these vehicles, learning about their specs and innovative features from on-site BYD product specialists. The event also went beyond the vehicles themselves, incorporating interactive activities designed to educate and inspire interest in EVs and sustainable practices. Plus, who doesn’t love the chance to win some exclusive prizes?
What made this event even more special was the unveiling of the DLSU Eco Archer Team’s latest creation, the Zeta Urban Concept. This marked the vehicle’s first public appearance since competing in the Shell Eco-Marathon in Indonesia last July. It’s truly inspiring to see students embracing innovation and pushing the boundaries of sustainable transportation.
BYD’s Managing Director, Bob Palanca, emphasized the importance of engaging with the next generation, stating, “This campus showcase…is an important step in making electric vehicles accessible to young Filipinos, sparking their curiosity and empowering them to drive positive change.” Aiffy Liu, Country Head of BYD Philippines, echoed this sentiment, highlighting BYD’s commitment to inspiring future leaders to embrace green technology.
