It was a very memorable and entertaining week for music and me. It was Aug 28 when I watched the advance screening of Katie Perry Part of Me 3D Movie/Documentary. I was amazed at how professional she is when it comes to her work. How she strive to be where she is at now and how important her fans is to her. Katy Perry deserves everything she has now and most specially he deserves our respect as an artist and a person.
Then on Aug 31 I was able to watch Erik Santos – Greatest Theme Songs Concert at the Meralco Theater. It was my first time watching him perform live. It was a night of movies, teleseryes and theme songs both foreign and local.
Can you name the movies and the theme songs Erik Santos sang? He actually sang more than 30 theme songs already and in his concert he sang more than 30 theme songs. He also had the Opera Belles, Vina Morales, Martin Nievera and Basil Valdez as guests who themselves have a lot of theme songs under their belt.
It was Erik Santos’ duet with Martin Nievera that gave me goosebumps and was given a standing ovation. They sang medley of Martin’s theme songs – Ikaw Ang Aking Pangrap, Kahit Isang Saglit and Ikaw. It was revealed that it was just rehearsed the of the concert itself because Gary V. couldn’t make it on the second day. It was really an awesome performance! Good thing I was able to see one posted in YouTube but was cut short, the climax or hightlight of the duet was not captured. But here it is.
At the back stage interview he said he was happy that the audience are “very responsive, yung nage-gets nila yung personality ko.” He also confirmed that it was the same day that he and Martin rehearsed for their medley he said it was fun working with him and since it was really a short rehearsal “pakiramdaman na lang tayo” is what they decided to do. How does he feel after the concert? “Thankful, in my 9 years in the business, nandyan pa rin sila to support my album, concert. I’m just so happy. We are preparing something bigger for my 10th year.“
