Infinix NOTE 50 Pro Review: 144Hz, Fast Charging, and Gaming Tested

The Infinix NOTE 50 Pro is generating considerable buzz, particularly within the gaming community, and for good reason. My initial encounter with the device paints a picture of a smartphone that’s seriously geared towards mobile gaming enthusiasts.

Now let’s get down to what make’s the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro the gaming phone to own this 2025.

The 144Hz Eye-Care Ultra-Smooth Display is a standout feature. It produces fluid visuals, essential for fast-paced gaming and binge watching your favorite KDrama or scrolling through your FYP. The slim bezels maximize the viewing area, further enhancing the experience.

The display is wrapped around the full metal frame that not only provides a premium look and feel but also suggests durability, a crucial factor for a gaming-focused device. Especially when one loses. I was dying to try to do a drop test, but I chose to be not to.

The unique rear camera design adds a touch of style to the overall aesthetic, plus the colorway is a great choice.

Now let’s talk about gaming.

The 144Hz display immediately takes center stage in the gaming department. Games that support high refresh rates, like Call of Duty: Mobile, PUBG Mobile, and Asphalt 9: Legends, feel incredibly fluid and responsive. The difference between 60Hz and 144Hz is very obvious, offering a distinct advantage in fast-paced scenarios, allowing for quicker reaction times and smoother tracking of moving targets.

The MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate together with the Mali – G57MP2 GPU  did a great job in handling most games coupled with 12GB of RAM (expandable up to 24GB with virtual RAM) and 256GB of storage.

Heat management is a critical aspect for gaming phones. The Infinix NOTE 50 Pro manages it reasonably well. During extended gaming sessions (around an hour, the most I can), the back of the phone did get warm, but it never reached uncomfortable levels that would significantly impact performance or grip.

Responsiveness is another key area where the NOTE 50 Pro shines in gaming. Touch input feels accurate and immediate, crucial for competitive gaming. The dedicated gaming mode further optimizes performance by blocking notifications, freeing up resources, and offering quick access to gaming-related settings.

The question is, how long will it last?

The 5200mah can last you up to half a day of normal usage and less, of course, when your an avid gamer. However, the combination of 90W wired fast charging and 30W wireless charging ensures minimal downtime for gamers, allowing them to quickly recharge and get back into the action. The added convenience of wireless charging is a welcome bonus.
