OPPO’s mid-range wonder has features of a flagship and the price is close to an entry level. The OPPO F5 Youth boasts a 13MP f/2.2 rear camera whose images looks great on its 6″ inchFHD+ LTPS IPS LCD 18:9 display @ 2160 x 1080 resolution with 403ppi. The rear camera comes with a LED flash.
OPPO made sure that they squeezed in a lot features on its camera including time-lapse, video, photo, beauty, panorama, and an expert mode if you have a background on ISO, Aperture and Exposure.
Autofocusing wasn’t an issue, I rarely had to tap the screen to adjust focus unless it’s there’s a huge space and there’s too many subjects to choose from, otherwise, is really easy and accurate most of the time.
The image quality is commendable for its price. It may be 3 megapixels lower than its big brother, the F5 but it still sharp and accurate colors.
It also performs well during low-light conditions, the results are still good and detailed.
The OPPO F5 Youth’s front camera has 16MP and also comes with the AI Beautification which debuted on the F5. It’s removes blemishes and smoothens skin without overdoing it. It looks natural, it really does capture the real you.
The selfie camera also comes with bokeh feature that blur the background. The bokeh effect looks cleaner, it doesn’t like it as software enhanced.
The OPPO F5 Youth has all the bell and whistles of its big brother, the F5, less the megapixels and you won’t notice the difference when you post it online. It will only matter if you print your photos. With the rise of affordable dual camera phones, F5 Youth’s images can still compete with smartphones within it’s price range plus you get an 18:9 screen. For the price of P12,990 it’s worth considering.
