Imagine living in a world where clean water is a luxury. For residents of Dumanjug, Cebu, this was a harsh reality until BingoPlus Foundation stepped in. The foundation’s Project Clean is a shining example of corporate social responsibility, aiming to provide safe drinking water to thousands of Filipinos.
Diarrhea is a leading cause of death among Filipino children, often stemming from contaminated water. In Cebu, the situation is particularly dire, with many communities lacking access to clean water sources. This has severe consequences for public health and overall quality of life.

To address this pressing issue, BingoPlus Foundation donated advanced water filters, rainwater catchment tanks, and conducted extensive water sanitation training. These efforts have directly benefited residents across 11 barangays, reducing the risk of waterborne diseases and improving their health.

The impact of Project Clean is already evident. Local health officials have reported a decrease in cases of diarrhea and other water-related illnesses. Residents are now able to enjoy cleaner, safer water, leading to improved quality of life and overall well-being.
Pilar Fernandez, Nurse and Sanitation Inspector at the Dumanjug Rural Health Unit, highlighted the local impact: “We frequently see cases of children suffering from diarrhea and amoebiasis due to unsafe water. The water in our rivers may look clear but is often contaminated. Project Clean will greatly enhance the safety of our water sources, protecting our community’s health.”

Project Clean is part of a larger ₱15 million donation from BingoPlus during the Cebu Carnival, which also includes substantial aid in the wake of Typhoon Carina, apart from various projects dedicated in Cebu.
Dr. Reynilee Christine Cabilin, Department Head of the Municipal Health Office of Dumanjug, expressed gratitude, stating, “We are deeply grateful for BingoPlus Foundation’s generous support. This timely aid will make a significant difference, particularly for those in remote areas, and help us recover from the impacts of Typhoon Carina.“
Project Clean is just one example of BingoPlus Foundation’s commitment to social welfare. The foundation has also provided significant aid to communities affected by Typhoon Carina and has increased its outreach budget to over ₱100 million.

Angela Camins-Wieneke, Executive Director of the BingoPlus Foundation, emphasized, “Project Clean exemplifies our dedication to transforming lives through sustainable and impactful healthcare solutions. By equipping communities with the tools and knowledge they need, we aim to safeguard their health and improve their quality of life.“
BingoPlus Foundation’s Project Clean is a testament to the power of corporate social responsibility. By providing access to clean water, the foundation is not only improving public health but also empowering communities and creating a brighter future for generations to come.
