Azumi Boutique Hotel – Alabang’s Perfect Getaway

Azumi Boutique Hotel – Alabang’s Perfect Getaway

Alabang is not our list of places to visit as it is far from where we live.  We have malls and other establishments that are nearer and travel friendly from where we are. But recently, we found one of the best reasons to visit Alabang once in a while. It’s this…

Azumi Botique Hotel. The location, Alabang the best place for a “staycation”, it’s far from the city, but still in the metro. If you’re from Pasig, just take an EDSA bus going to Alabang South Station. There’s a fixed rate bus that only charges P30 going to Alabang.  From South Station, take a jeepney going to Alabang Zapote Road. It’ll only be around 5 to mins ride on a minimum fare. Asked the driver to drop you at Molino/PureGold it’s right across Shell station).

The lobby has a modern classical look  with a European feel.  The art displays, furniture, and even the books are pleasing to the eyes.

The lobby itself is so inviting, I could stay here all day take photos, read books, and just stare at the interiors while praising its designer for the great job they’ve done.

Azumi Boutique Hotel boasts 187 rooms with earth tones with orange accents and wood laminated floors. Each room has its own toilet and bath, a small kitchen, a mini refrigerator and 32 inch television. Most of the rooms has their own balcony that can be accessed through the glass doors. The rooms and hallways are also equipped with ECOCARAT tiles or what they call breathing tiles that absorbs humidity, foul odors and harmful substances.

After checking out the rooms and fixing our things, we went straight to the pool to cool off. We weren’t prepared for the surprise that awaits at the swimming area, an infinity pool at the 17th floor. It was thrilling, so I did my best to fight my fear of heights.

The pool was only around 4 1/2 at the center and 4 feet from both ends. The shallow pool depth was enough reason for us to play in the pool, but the fear of heights got the best of us, specially with kids. We just happily stayed the safe area, which is the stairs. I did took a peek at the edge of the pool to see what lies beneath, but there was none. Just a gutter to catch the overflowing water.

After the quick dip, we went out to check out the malls and other establishments that we can find in the area.  Azumi Boutique Hotel also offers free shuttle services to some malls and even the airport. Since Alabang Town Center is just a 10 minute walk from where we are, we decided to eat dinner there. On the way back we dropped by at Nathaniel’s, a famous pasalubong place and bought some goodies – puto pao and palabok for our midnight snacks.

We wanted to go back to the pool that night, but we were too lazy and the thought of battling the cold breeze made us back. We just decided to have fun in the balcony and have a picnic in the moonlight.

And inside while watching television.

The comfortable bed, cold room temperature from the air conditioning, and the view of the night lights from the glass wall is just an amazing experience. I spent some of my time working, using the rooms fast internet service.

The next morning, we were all excited to know what we’ll have for breakfast. Buffet breakfast is served at Romulo Cafe, a famous cafe which has branches in Quezon City and Makati.

For breakfast, that day, they have vegetable salad, arroz caldo, beef tapa, crispy bacon, fried rice, cereals, fruits, bread, and juices. It’s not the same everyday, the following day they served pansit, pork humba , and others.

After breakfast we stayed in the lobby for  a while to read the papers and browse on some books. It was really a nice place to hang out to. Have a little chat and just bond a little.

There is actually a spa in the room across the lobby, if you want to have your nails done get a foot spa or massage.

After our quick break, we had another round at the pool. This time we were braver.

There is actually a function room at the penthouse that can hold up to 50 guests, depending on the set up. It’s most suited for parties because you have the pool right outside your door.

On the same floor there is a villa that is also available for booking. This room has a 360 degree view of the city. It has it’s own dining area, receiving area, and a very nice view of the city in the bathroom. This room is at P15,000 a night, but you have to book in advance because everyone wants to experience this. What’s not to love about it – you’ll be sleeping under the moonlight with the stars in the sky, plus you have the pool right at your doorstep!

It was another memorable experience for us, and we enjoyed every corner of it. Azumi Boutique Hotel gave us one good reason to visit Alabang.
