I Graduated at GSM Blueniversity

A week ago I received an owl from the headmaster of GSM Blueniversity for a Basic/Advance lessons on bartending. I don’t expect to be the top of the class or an A student, but I learned a lot form it.  I learned about the different type of alcoholic drinks and how to create my own mix of alcohol, just like mixing potions, from the Mixcology subjectAlcohol proof and alcohol content and what’s accepted.

GSM Blueniversity is a yearly program organised by GSM Blue.  This progam has been created especially for Hotel and Restaurant Management majors all over the Philippines for an extensive program on Cocktail Mixing and Flairtending.

GSM Blueniversity also promotes responsible drinking and this year they marks the second year of GSM Blue Flair Idol, the Nationwide search for the Best Student Flairtender. Flairtending or Flair bartending is the practice of bartenders entertaining guests, clientele or audiences with the manipulation of bar tools (e.g. cocktail shakers) and liquor bottles in tricky, dazzling ways. – Wikipedia.

Flairtending includes mixing of alcoholic drinks and serving it to customers. It’s not just about bottle spinning, glass throwing, ice catching tricks.  You have to know the type of party and what to serve to them.

Aside from the cold, rainy, story weather, GSM Blue gave me another reason to drink.  And when alcohol kicks in, I’ll practice my flair tending skill while explaining what eotech 512 is and graduate a Toma Cum Laude at GSM Blueniversity.
