The “ber” months are here and the season of eating has begun. The Mall of Asia starts the first of many food events this season by taking your taste buds on a trip around the world – Mall of Asia International Food Fest. The food fest has over 50 participating restaurants and each has prepared dishes that are exclusively for the event Only. Along with my blogger friends, we were able to take our taste buds to Japan, Italy and the US.
Tempura Japanse Grill Restaurant was the first of the three that we visited that day and it was a great start.
Welcoming us at the Tempura Japanese Grill was an enormous crustacean in a roll exclusively prepared for the event. The Dragon Roll has a king prawn tempura filling with mango and cucumber. to add more flavor it was seasoned with teriyaki sauce.
Aside form the “Special Eats” we also tried their best sellers, including the colorful shakes, Four Seasons, Banana Nut, Cucumber Mint, and the Watermelon Shake. All are equally good and refreshing, but I love Banana Nut more because it’s something new to me. I might try and make one myself. Then we have the Kaisen Raizu, a Japanese fried rice topped with seafood (fish, squid, shrimp, and scallops), served with spicy anchovies on the sides. Tempura, you can’t go wrong when ordering them. it’s everyone’s favorite.
I just burst in to a song every time I come across the Japanese word – Sukiyaki. Sukiyaki is Japanese stew that’s full of flavor and an overwhelming serving of ingredients, I believe the difference Sukiyaki and Ramen is that the former is the noodles and the soup is sweeter.
The Honey Miso Glazed Salmon, is a winner in so many levels. It’s healthy, tasty, and it looks good.
To cap off our trip to Japan we were served Chocolate Ganache Mousse Cake.
