I’ve don’t regularly have anything done on my face, usually soap and water is enough. No cleansers, moisturizers or anything. The vainest thing my face has gone thru was a facial. Different types of facial, I don’t even remember what, but yes, I did have facial services done.
Until two weeks ago I had the courage to explore other services. I was invited by Luminisce for the launch and presentation of their new treatments, Luminisce Dermablate and Volite. Having worked at a dermatological company, I am already familiar with Luminisce as business, but I haven’t seen or been to their clinics.
To begin with, I was able to get to know the doctor behind Luminisce – Holistic Skin Innovation – Dr. Kristina ‘Kaycee’ Reyes, a wellness expert and health advocate. Dr Kaycee started her wellness journey with her Diploma in Dermatology and Master of Science in Clinical Dermatology from King’s College and St. John’s Institute of Dermatology at Guy’s & St. Thomas Hospital in London. It’s a long list of credentials actually check out their website if you want read all about it – Luminisce.
Dr. Kaycee introduced new breakthroughs including the Juviderm® Volite which she demonstrated with Dr. Elistine Tolentino and Dermablate, a laser treatment which is a favorite among experts worldwide because of its precision, zero-pain procedure, and impressive clinical results.
Volite is an injectable that boasts constant hydration for months. It stimulates collagen production for healthier, rejuvenated skin. It can also be applied on the neck, hands and décolletage.
Effects will begin to show a few days after the treatment and the result can stay for six (6) to nine (9) months.
What I was really here for is the Dermablate a fractional laser that offers highly precise removal oof material from the surface of the skin such as benign lesions of the dermis and epidermis, as well as skin rejuvenation via the treatment of wrinkles and scars. It’s used for skin issues such as pigmentation, uneven texture and skin aging.
The image of the left is the machine used for Dermablate procedure for skin resurfacing treatment the one the right blows cold breeze to reduce any discomfort you may feel during procedure.
Before the procedure, topical anesthesia will be applied for 30 mins. The topical anesthesia is usually not required as there is zero to minimal pain involved. I did still feel tingling sensations during the procedure which was soothed by the eskimo machine.
It was my first going beyond cleansing and facial so they made sure I was comfortable. I did smell burnt skin which was normal for laser treatments.
The procedure does not have downtime, just a bit of redness after the treatment and itchiness and peeling after tow days. I was just asked to apply sun screen during the healing period and moisturizer.
Dermablate may be done once every two weeks or up to 10 sessions during the treatment phase, and once every four to six weeks as maintenance.
