Zia Quizon Gives A Little Bit of Lovin’

The voice who took the Philippine music industry by surprise is back with her second album – A Little Bit of Lovin’.  Zia Quizon‘s sophomore album was a result of her successful debut album which featured the hits Ako Na Lang and Dear Lonely.  It has sold more than 10,000 copies and won numerous awards.

The album includes 2 covers (Seven Nation Army and  Masdan Mo Ang Kapaligiran) and 8 original songs. Four out of the eight were composed by Zia herself – Under And OverOn The RunLittle Bit Of Lovin’ and Sweet Memories. Bakit Di Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo, theme song of the hit movie with the same title is also included as well as her collaboration with Gloc-9 –  Katulad Ng Iba for the anti-bullying campaign.

The carrier single Pasakalye was composed by hit maker Jungee Marcelo and my favorite song in her latest album, Kung Ayaw Mo Sa Akin is composed by Francis Salazar. Here’s a clip of her singing it live and acoustic.

The jazzy sound of her music was not about branding, it’s being what she really is.  “The album is not just a piece of music, it’s a piece of me.“, Zia explained. She was hands on with the selection of songs for the album and also the arrangements as she has included some of hers. The difficult part was recording her own songs, because it was her and guitar when it was composed, at the recording there were a lot of technical aspects that has to be considered and being new in the music industry it was quite a challenge.

A Little Bit Of Lovin’ is music worth buying, it reminds me of how great our local talents are. From song writing, composing and the voice that gives it meaning. A Little Bit of Lovin’ is now available in record bars and online thru MyMusicStore and iTunes courtesy of PolyEast Records.
