Two New Reasons To Love Pinkberry

SM Mega Fashion Hall continually brings the best in food and fashion, and adding to the list of its must visits is the most popular frozen yogurt brand – Pinkberry. One of the fastest growing retail brands globally with over 240 stores across 17 countries, Pinkberry’s flagship store in Greenbelt 5 is the first market in Asia. It opened in December 2011 and I was able to visit it a couple of times and was able to blog about it too, check it out HERE.

The Mega Fashion Hall branch is smaller that it’s flagship store, but it has all the elements needed for a  fun, colorful, and relaxing hangout place, located just right across the ice skating rink. Frozen yogurt across an ice skating rink, isn’t that cool?

And when I say colorful, I mean flavorful colors.

Imagine the number of combinations that you can make with all the available toppings for your frozen yogurt. If you can’t decide or not sure of what goes better with what, Pinkberry’s friendly staff will be there to guide you and make sure you don’t make weird topping combinations. Unless, you insist.

The star that day was the launch of their new and exclusive topping – Sugarpova, and also a taste of their new frozen yogurt flavor – Cherry. Sugarpova is a candy line by international tennis superstar Maria Sharapova. Sugarpova has made a mini versions of the candy exclusively for Pinkberry as toppings.

These gummy candies are the type that I try to avoid because they are the types that I can consume in just one sitting. Sugarpova made bite sizes exclusively for Pinkberry for its toppings.

We had the pleasure of trying the Sugarpovas with their top selling frozen yogurt and their recommended pairings.

After tasting all of them, I honestly do not know how to differentiate them, I like them all and if I have to choose a favorite, it will be the Smitten Sour Sugarpova and the new cherry flavored frozen yogurt. I like them individually because of their sweet-soury taste, and having them in one mouthful is just uhmmm!

Next we tried out the new cherry flavored frozen yogurt with Pinkberry’s recommended combinations – crispy crepes, shaved milk chocolate, toasted almonds, dark chocolate crisps, banana, sea salt, and Italian caramel. Everyone agreed that although all combinations are good, the one that stood out was the first on the list, the Chocolate Covered Cherry. The sweet taste of chocolate compliments the taste of cherry, it’s similar to a Black Forest Cake, but it’s not. It’s just like that., but does not taste like it.(I know, I’m confused too).

We’re not done yet, we still have their best seller, the Salted Caramel Flavor. It was introduced over a year ago during the hype of salted caramel flavored goodies, check out the blog HERE.

I know a lot of people who likes anything salted-caramel, but Italian caramel is just too sweet for me, even if I add sea salt. So after tasting all combinations, I just made my own, banana and toasted almonds.

That day we were also given a chance to create our own frozen yogurt servings, and I learned that training is an integral part of an employees career. It takes time, effort and patience to master a skill. A one-minute demo of frozen yogurt twirling is not enough. so trust me when I say that my creation tastes better than it looks.
